The weather man said it was going to rain.
It rained. A lot.
If we could go back and do this again, we wouldn't change a thing and we're pretty sure Stephen and Catherine feel the same as we do.
It's pretty darn awesome as photographers when you get a chance to combine work and play! This was one of those opportunities... Please say hello to Ben, Kellie and their delightful daughter Stella. They're the kind of friends that come around once, maybe twice in a lifetime if you're very lucky. Why? Because they're one of those warm, loving, awesome at life families you only ever see in the movies... except they're REAL! Better yet, these guys are a massive part of our lives, something we're truly grateful for! We hope you enjoy these portraits we took one lazy afternoon around Brisbane.

Awww......such a happy family!!!
Stella is growing quick....so cute.
As usual Feather and Stone is a winner.
such a gorgeous family, looks like you had a great day.
(09.05.10)Oh how gorgeous are these photos!!!!!!!!!! The combination of cute family and fantastic photographers makes for beautiful images. Looks like you had heaps of fun..... b xo

When you live in the Fortitude Valley you just get used to noise. Pick pretty much any night of the week and you may hear glass breaking, sirens blaring, wolf whistles and the occasional drunken cackle, the kind that many middle aged woman seem to suffer from after a few wines. Entertaining to say the least, but most certainly not peaceful.
Now fast forward to Briony + Brandon's wedding. Stepping out of the car, the first thing that hits us is silence, sweet silence....interrupted only by the warm and soothing tone of a cello, accompanied by hearty, blissful banter. It doesn't take long to look around and realise we're at a pretty special place, for a pretty special moment. Briony + Brandon chose to tie the knot at Sirromet's "Laguna" which sits on a beautiful lake, surrounded by golden fields, and grazing kangaroos.
Peaceful?
Yes.
Beautiful?
See for yourself...

OMG!!!! these shots are AMAZING. I cant believe it is going to be me in 2 weeks!
(08.06.10)As always...........you are awesome!! I've notice that in all your works people look very relaxed.
(08.06.10)Very nice, beautiful story told :) The only thing that bothers me is your BW conversion - I don't really like it, it looks more of a grayscale to me than BW. Compositions, emotions - that's just great !
(08.06.10)These are good. These are REALLY REALLY good! Love the field and vineyard shots.
(08.06.10)I literally get excited when I see that you've posted a wedding. :) The landscape shots are so beautiful.
(08.07.10)I love the wine cellar picture with the lights beside them. Amazing image.
(08.07.10)Very fun images and your use of light is amazing! Inspiring for sure! {oh and I spotted the kanga he he}

It was an exciting but melancholy day for Feather and Stone as we lost half our team 1 month ago (we're still not sure whose the Feather and whose the Stone).
Nonetheless, 2 lives were neatly packed into a few suitcases with passports in one hand and Nestle Crunchie bars in the other. Our dear friends and partners in crime Fernando and Suzanne boarded a plane to start their epic year long journey to the land of tango, fĂștbol and beautiful women. Yes, were talking about Buenos Aires Argentina.
This is something they've been planning for quite some time and for any of us that have the privilege of being a part of their lives, we know how hard they've worked.......investing heart and soul to get there..... we want to say, we couldn't be more proud of you.
Teary eyed with tissues in hand we said our goodbyes......but with great excitement and anticipation for what's ahead of you both......we're cheering you on from the sidelines (with invisible pom poms). We love you dearly, will miss you terribly and cannot wait to hear and see how your incredible adventure unfolds.
Signing off we will leave you with these words of wisdom... "We must Skypeth until you returnith to Brisbane." However it seems the majority of our Skyping time will be trying to outdo each other in stupid face pulling contests......its quality time you see...
ahahaha.........you guys never take anything serious!!!!!
So is that the way you say goodbye to each other?Hehehehe
The Juno inspired, stick-man story board concept from Sydney's own Pete and Shan. The concept has taken the top spot in our "Your Face Goes Here" engagement shoot competition. We are very excited to shoot with this duo and turn this story board to life. Keep your eyes peeled on www.polkadotbride.com.au to check it out when it's complete.
We also want to take the opportunity to say THANK YOU so very much to Mike + Letitia and Ruari + Alecia. We adore your entries and would love to see them all come to life. As runners up would like to offer a $220 discount off of our engagement shoot package!
Lastly, we want to thank all of the voters, your support and participation has been unreal, we couldn't have done this without you!
