The weather man said it was going to rain.
It rained. A lot.
If we could go back and do this again, we wouldn't change a thing and we're pretty sure Stephen and Catherine feel the same as we do.
When you live in the Fortitude Valley you just get used to noise. Pick pretty much any night of the week and you may hear glass breaking, sirens blaring, wolf whistles and the occasional drunken cackle, the kind that many middle aged woman seem to suffer from after a few wines. Entertaining to say the least, but most certainly not peaceful.
Now fast forward to Briony + Brandon's wedding. Stepping out of the car, the first thing that hits us is silence, sweet silence....interrupted only by the warm and soothing tone of a cello, accompanied by hearty, blissful banter. It doesn't take long to look around and realise we're at a pretty special place, for a pretty special moment. Briony + Brandon chose to tie the knot at Sirromet's "Laguna" which sits on a beautiful lake, surrounded by golden fields, and grazing kangaroos.
Peaceful?
Yes.
Beautiful?
See for yourself...

OMG!!!! these shots are AMAZING. I cant believe it is going to be me in 2 weeks!
(08.06.10)As always...........you are awesome!! I've notice that in all your works people look very relaxed.
(08.06.10)Very nice, beautiful story told :) The only thing that bothers me is your BW conversion - I don't really like it, it looks more of a grayscale to me than BW. Compositions, emotions - that's just great !
(08.06.10)These are good. These are REALLY REALLY good! Love the field and vineyard shots.
(08.06.10)I literally get excited when I see that you've posted a wedding. :) The landscape shots are so beautiful.
(08.07.10)I love the wine cellar picture with the lights beside them. Amazing image.
(08.07.10)Very fun images and your use of light is amazing! Inspiring for sure! {oh and I spotted the kanga he he}
(08.15.10)
A very nice sneak peek. Makes me want to see them all. Love the tree shot.
(07.16.10)I love the beautiful, sunny glow in the first couple of shots - such gorgeous work!!
(07.17.10)My favorite time of day, and you rocked it! I love the golden light on the couple (her birdcage is awesome!), and the wine cellar shot is super! Great work!
(07.17.10)Ummm. WOW. Loving on all of these. Especially the last one! She has such an awesome expression on her face and I love how you put the flashes on the stands so you don't have ugly lightstands back there, I always struggle with where to put flashes!
(07.17.10)i just came across your blog and oh my wow, i love it. i just keep scrolling back and looking at everything. so beautiful!
(07.17.10)Love the different styles and your color work is fab. Can't wait to see the rest.
(07.18.10)Very creative work here. I love the tilt shift wide shot and the wine cellar shot with the in your face lighting.
(07.18.10)Love the creativity & willingness to try something different with that last one. No doubt the couple appreciates it as well!
(07.18.10)Ho ho ho, they are very awesome guys. Can't wait to see the rest! Really love how that wine room photo makes me look like I'm the boss:-) Also like how handsome my hubby looks...glad you chose the shot with his specs on:-)
(07.19.10)Definitely excited to see more! Love the shot of the bride at the beginning, and killer idea on the last one.
(07.20.10)Awesome sneek peak post, I'll be back to see the rest. Love the shot in the field!
(07.20.10)GAWJUS! Somebody get me a tilt-shift, quick!
I love your work, forever and always. So beautiful.
Love the last shot - Great strobe work! The bird-cage veil in those sunset shots is second to none, too! Lovely.

O.K. You may see us get a little soppy here... but we couldn't help it with this next wedding! When we first met with Stephanie Sarta and Joseph Sweet, we could tell their wedding was going to be something special. Steph is infectiously bubbly and a little crazy (in the most wonderful way) and Joseph is gentle and kind with a quiet strength. They were a joy to see together. As we got to know them better we realised how lovingly dedicated they were to creating their unique and personal wedding. Rather than book a function venue, they decided to meticulously restore an old chook shed on the family-run organic hobby farm on the outskirts of Brisbane. Joseph and Stephanie worked hard for months to get every detail perfect - doing as much as they possibly could themselves. It was so awesome to see their vision of an amazing barn wedding come to life! Thank you so much Steph and Joseph for sharing your wedding with us, it truly was an amazing experience - one that we will never forget!
Check out the Sweet slideshow here. Also, please keep your eyes peeled for the full story of Joseph and Stephanie's DIY barn wedding (you'll want to read it, we promise!) at Polka Dot Bride.

Oh my, you take the most awesome and beautiful wedding photos.
And I wish I had a bow-shaped wedding ring. Boo!
You guys absolutely killed this wedding. The couple, the setting, the decor is extraordinarily beautiful.
(07.06.10)What can I say????
They are a gorgeous couple, the venue...perfect! Everything is so unreal.

(07.06.10)You guys are unbelievable!! (07.07.10)These are sooooo nice. Kind of wish i was there!
(07.08.10)wonderful wedding photos, and the details that they made (the branch lights, fild flower bouquets) were just lovely!
(07.08.10)This is a really simply sweet wedding, the details are gorgeous as is the couple, and your shooting style has captured their day perfectly. You got some beautiful portraits of the couple that fit the decor and theme spot on!
(07.08.10)Some really nice detail shots and cool poses here, I think the shot of them walking with their bikes is very sweet, That barns crubbed up well, it looked amazing inside!
(07.08.10)This whole set is incredible. I love every image. You presented them really well too - I always struggle with layout in blog posts. I am actually adding your feed to my reader now - and I rarely do that!! Your work is just amazing.
(07.08.10)Beautiful work! Looks so....classic. You make the barn look great too, and I bet it was some tough lighting in there.
(07.08.10)This is an amazing wedding, I love everything about it. Especially the balloons. :)
(07.08.10)Incredible. I love to see couples really making it their own, and they took it to the next level.
(07.08.10)Your imagery is so beautiful. Love how you capture their spirits + their love so beautifully. Adoring the bicycle, the flower in the hair, and most definitely the ring shot. Awesome!

There are some things in life that just go together.
Lazy summer days, sun, surf and sand, winter nights huddled around a campfire, good friends and belly aching laughs. After spending only one day with Sarah and Stewart, we feel it's fair to say they'd make a pretty amazing addition to this list.
Sarah and Stewart hale from Brisbane however they're currently living as expats in Qatar and would you believe it, they did most of their planning from overseas? Why would this be so hard to believe? Because the day was perfection. Go on, see for yourself....
Beautiful wedding, beautiful couple= perfect ingredients for beautiful photos.
Well done guys. As usual you're amazing!!!!
Blimey - you rocked this wedding. Your processing is very clean and sharp (yet the colours remain soft & clear - which i love). The B&G should be very, very pleased with what you've produced. Bravo!

(07.02.10)Lovely set. that shot with the couple kissing and the guests' heads in teh background... that is an awesome composition!
(07.02.10)OH MY GOODNESS!!! There must be some sort of prestigious award you should be nominated for??? - National new wedding photographer of the year 2010??? .... maybe even an international award, or Australasian award...leave it with me and i'll start googling...

Madeline and Nic reminded us that a wedding can still be a licence for creativity. How you ask?
50's style turquoise wedding dress
Gold sneakers
Bustling coffee shop for couple shots
Even though we only had a few hours with Madeline and Nic we were able to observe how you can still maintain the elements of what a wedding is all about......the ceremonial union of 2 best friends, the families, friends, emotions, odd-ball moments and everything in between but......it doesn't have to be done in a sea of overflowing white, laced with tradition. Thank you Madeline and Nic for allowing us to be a part of your special day.

This cute couple have travelled the world together, but ask them what one of their favourite pastimes is and you may hear the following...
drinking a glass of their favourite wine on their apartment balcony with Brisbane City views...
having a meal at their favourite BYO cafe Sprout; or
riding their very cool vintage bikes....
We enjoyed the Briony and Brandon experience and we hope you do too! More excitingly we await their wedding at Sirromet in a few weeks, so watch this space!

Look up the words imaginative, creative or inventive in the dictionary and you should find photos of Stephanie + Joseph. Look up the word Tom foolery and you should find a picture of a guy named Tom, our dictionary doesn't have his picture in it but we know he exists. Enough about Tom already! We met Stephanie and Joseph on an organic hobby farm that they are currently (DIY) transforming into the wedding venue of wedding venues. We are beyond impressed with their plans and can't wait for their big day! In the meantime, feast your eyes on their organic engagement pics.

(04.10.10)I have to agree with Freddy. These images are so fresh, crisp, clear and honest. The couple are so cute and they look very comfortable, so congrats to you guys what an amazing effort and something to be proud of. B x
(04.12.10)This photo shoot is great! Do they have a name of the proposed wedding venue as of yet?
(04.18.10)Hi Green and Bloom Flowers! If you'd like to check out the hobby farm the website is http://www.secondnatureorganic.com . We'll also have their wedding piccies up soon which will show all the work that Stephanie and Joseph and their family and friends have been doing there in the last few months :)

xx
Especially if it's THE Ms Polka's blog: Polkadot Bride, whom we've come to adore! Not only is she the sweetest gal around, we've often stalked her pages and have fallen in love with other amazing photographers from around the country, and we can't believe we've been featured among them! For any of you brides-to-be we highly recommend stalking Ms Polka's blog for inspiration!

You might remember this power couple from movies such as "Aren't we ridiculously good looking" and "A really good looking couple gets married". OK so these aren't real movies but if they were real movies they would be starring Brendan and Anne-Marie. And if there were awards for these movies these two would win the 'Most Chilled Bride Ever' and 'Managing to play Soccer on your Wedding Day' (we can't decide if that award should go to Brendan for doing it or Anne-Marie for letting him). In all seriousness it was an awesome day and we were honoured to be a part of it!

(01.29.10)Thank you for letting us be part of your special day! We are so happy you love the photos :)
(02.01.10)
Our shoot started at the break of dawn with us racing against the sun. We rattled around Bris Vegas in the back alleyways of the valley and New Farm, stumbling upon some very cool graffiti. It didn't take long for Ethan and Kaity to loosen up and before you could say......Snuffleupagus..... they busted out their best moves and took us to Planet Funk. Ethan and Kaity definitely brought the goods on the day and as for the photos.....we'll let them speak for themselves.... What's that Mr. Photo? Want me to shut up so you can speak? Speak photo speak!!! Click here to see their slideshow!!!
Feather and Stone, you're right.........WOW
(11.19.09)Love it, Planet Funk rocks =)
(11.20.09)
Our first time shooting at Bundaleer Rainforest Gardens and a what an amazing day it turned out to be, the picturesque ceremony saturated in gorgeous golden light.....not to mention a few tears as well! Light was against us as the sun set, but Dom & Laura were total troopers and with toothpicks in hand Dom's son Chris protected us from the roving chickens...... they were totally eyeing us off...... The reception went into full swing, and Dom & Laura got their groove on with the coolest bridal dance we've ever seen!! They and their guests continued partying on through the night.... Shake it like a polaroid picture baby.... Shake it!
Simple,tasteful, beautiful.........
The elderly man's face, looks unreal. Love that shot.
The surroundings look so peaceful.
Great work.
Wow !!! Your work is so inspirational. The originality in your shots is amazing, keep up your excellent work.
Jen
PS: Im recommending everyone to look at your website :o)
Top 5 reasons we loved their wedding
5. S+K did pre-ceremony shots, love love!
4. Scott said fart, Keiko laughed
3. Keiko changed into the most amazing Yukata after the ceremony (summer Kimono)
2. Keiko jumped on the bed in her Yukata
1. S+K = best mates
Scott and Keiko's wedding was a breath of fresh air. The day started at their gorgeously renovated cottage, shots with family and friends (which ended with Fernando in a tree.....devoted to the cause!), moved to exploring GOMA and capturing some amazing natural light. Intimate ceremony at Highgate Hill with an incredible view of Brisbane City, Asahi & Champange - Perfect for a balmy Brisbane day! Back to their house for the reception, plenty-o-cute Japanese details everywhere, Keiko changed into an amazing Yukata & even jumped on the bed for an in-air action shot. As a beautiful gesture, each of us went home with a hand-carved pair of chopsticks. All in all....Epic Win!!!
Congratulations again to Scott + Keiko, thank you so much for letting us tag along on your special day!
If you want to see ALL the piccies from their epic day, Click HERE to see the slideshow!

(09.05.10)My goodness, can't wait to see the rest!!!! hurry up!!! love them all...x
(09.06.10)The second one down is great - the expression on the bride's face just says it all.
